A Winning Start: One Way Love’s First Golf Classic Raises $15,000

On Friday, October 24, 2025, One Way Love hosted its first-ever Charity Golf Classic at The Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis—and what a day it was!

With 46 golfers, 34 sponsors, and an incredible community of supporters, the inaugural event raised more than $15,000 in net proceeds to fund One Way Love’s programs for at-risk and housing-insecure youth across St. Tammany Parish.

From the moment registration opened at 7:00 AM, the energy was high. Teams rolled in ready to play on Mississippi’s only Arnold Palmer Signature Course, enjoying a perfect fall day filled with friendly competition, camaraderie, and purpose.

A Community-Driven Success

The Golf Classic wasn’t just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of community spirit and compassion. Players enjoyed breakfast, on-course refreshments (including beer, of course), and a post-tournament awards luncheon at Hollywood Casino.

Prizes were awarded to the top three teams:

• 1st Place: Jeff Caruso & Johnny Venezia

• 2nd Place: Kenny Barousse, Bryan Norris, Hai Thai & James Terrebonne

• 3rd Place: Byron Goff, Glen Harris, Rob Porter & Terrill Talamo

Each winner exemplified the spirit of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and generosity that made this event so special.

Golfers also took their best shot at the $10,000 hole-in-one challenge, and local businesses added to the excitement with tent activations, giveaways, and on-course hospitality.

Behind the scenes, volunteers and committee members worked tirelessly to make the day seamless. Their dedication—and the generosity of sponsors—made the event a true success and set the foundation for what will become an annual tradition.

Beyond the friendly competition, the Golf Classic served as a reminder of why One Way Love exists.Louisiana currently ranks #1 in the nation for the most at-risk youth, #2 in youth poverty, and #3 in teen birth rates. Across the state, nearly 12,000 students experience homelessness in a given school year.

Every dollar raised through this event directly supports One Way Love’s mission to meet those challenges head-on by providing housing assistance, mentorship, mental health resources, education support, and emergency aid to teens facing crisis situations.

This event wasn’t just about golf, it was about hope, opportunity, and the power of community to create change.

Looking Ahead

The success of our first tournament has laid the foundation for a lasting tradition. Plans are already underway for the Second Annual One Way Love Charity Golf Classic in 2026, and we can’t wait to build on this momentum with even more teams, sponsors, and supporters joining the cause.
