On April 1, 2025, Confident Women United recognized Rosemary Manint and Sandra Douglas, co-founders of One Way Love, as their Confident Women of the Month—and we’re beyond honored.
This tribute is more than a personal acknowledgment. It’s a moment to reflect on what this organization stands for, why it was founded, and the hundreds of lives it has touched since 2014.
Turning Pain into Purpose
When Rosemary and Sandra founded One Way Love, they brought more than a vision—they brought lived experience.
As survivors of childhood abuse, they understood the ache of invisibility, the burden of unworthiness, and the urgency of intervention. They knew what it meant to feel forgotten.
So they built One Way Love to ensure that no young person in our community would ever feel that way again.
Today, their work has become a lifeline for abandoned, neglected, and underserved teens—particularly those who have lost parents, are navigating parental incarceration or addiction, or have simply fallen through the cracks of the system.
Meeting Needs with Urgency—and Heart
We work closely with school counselors across St. Tammany Parish to identify students who need more than a backpack and a bus ride.
Our support goes far beyond “basic needs.” Yes, we provide food, clothing, hygiene supplies, and school essentials—but we also go deeper.
We:
Fund driving lessons so students can earn independence
Repair and gift cars to youth who need transportation
Provide laptops, phones, and tech so they can stay connected
Cover dental care and mental health counseling so they can thrive, not just survive
When a teenager comes to us with a need that doesn’t fit neatly into a social service box, we don’t send them away. We say yes. Because that’s what love without limits looks like.
The Heart of Our Work: Mentorship
Our mentorship program is the cornerstone of what we do.
Each teen is paired with a caring adult—someone who shows up, listens, and stays. It’s more than advice. It’s consistency. It’s trust. It’s belonging.
And for many of our students, that relationship becomes the turning point.
In a world where so many young people feel disposable, mentorship says:“You matter. You are not alone. I see you.”
From Surviving to Thriving
Over the past decade, we’ve walked alongside countless teens as they:
✔️ Graduated high school when no one thought they would ✔️ Landed jobs, earned licenses, and applied to college ✔️ Became young adults full of confidence, resilience, and purpose
Their success stories are a direct reflection of what happens when community shows up—and stays.
Thank You, Confident Women United

Your honor reminds us that when women lead with courage, empathy, and vision—change happens.
To be acknowledged alongside the many incredible women you’ve highlighted means the world to us. But even more, it shines a spotlight on the teens we serve and the urgency of our mission.
